The bacon cheeseburger soup recipe is a testimony to how well-loved the cheeseburger is.
People like to combine food that they love together. Some combination may seem weird at first but give it a try and you may be hooked.
Ingredients1 pound ground beef
2 slices of thick bacon
1 tablespoon beef boullion powder
½ pound mild cheddar cheese, leave at room temperature
¼ cup chopped onion
2 celery stalks chopped
1 large green pepper
4 cups milk
4 tablespoons plain flour
1/8 teaspoon seasoned salt
- Heat up a medium sized cooking pot and fry the bacon. You don't have to add any oil as the bacon's fat will melt.
- Fry till the bacon is about halfway done.
- Remove and set it aside. Leave any bacon fat in the pan.
- Add the celery, onion and green pepper, and stir friy gently until they are soft.
- Add the ground beef, cook and stir to prevent big chunks. Cook till the beef browns
- Dissove the beef boullion powder and salt in a little water and pour it over the beef and vegetables.
- Sprinkle the flour over the pan, stirring to avoid any clumps. Add a little water (a teaspoon at a time) if the mixture looks dry. Stir until all the flour has been incorporated
- Lower the heat to a low simmer and add the milk and mix it well with the beef mixture.
- Cut the bacon into bits or chunks (according to your preference) and add it back into the soup.
- Scoop the beef soup into individual serving bowls or a large soup tureen. Add the shredded cheddar on top of the soup before serving.
- The cheese melts and floats on top of the soup leaving you with a creamy cheesy bacon cheeseburger soup.
