A grilled hamburger recipe that will make great all-American burgers all year round. If you're like me, you just can't stand to be away from the grill too long. These are a consistent crowd pleaser. I've passed this recipe off to many friends and they too have had great results. Good luck!
Ingredients:
One pound of ground beef or bison
1 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon cilantro
1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup white cheddar cheese
- Combine all of the ingredients except the BBQ sauce and meat. Stir well to mix
- Add the ground meat, and massage the ingredients into the beef with your hands
- Mix the beef well to make sure the ingredients are dispersed evenly
- I use a plate to shape the patty. Take 1/6 of the beef mixture and roll into a smooth ball. Press the ball onto a plate and flatten with the palm of your hand, or use wax paper sheets if you don't want to get your hands dirty. Repeat, using the entire batch
- Tuck the sides of the burger in so that they're smooth and uniform
- Preheat grill for a 4-5 minutes to warm up the surface
- Place the burger patties on the grill and add the BBQ sauce to the top of each burger
- Cook for 4 minutes approximately on each side for medium/medium rare hamburger. Do not flip before the time is up
- When one side is done, flip it over
- After flipping, add BBQ sauce to the top side to add flavor
- If desired, add cheese during the last minute of cooking
- Serve on your favorite bun and condiments
