Best Grilled Hamburger Recipe

by Anon.
(California, USA)

A grilled hamburger recipe that will make great all-American burgers all year round. If you're like me, you just can't stand to be away from the grill too long. These are a consistent crowd pleaser. I've passed this recipe off to many friends and they too have had great results. Good luck!

Ingredients:
One pound of ground beef or bison
1 teaspoon coarse ground pepper
1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon cilantro
1 teaspoon fresh minced garlic
2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup white cheddar cheese

  1. Combine all of the ingredients except the BBQ sauce and meat. Stir well to mix

  2. Add the ground meat, and massage the ingredients into the beef with your hands

  3. Mix the beef well to make sure the ingredients are dispersed evenly

  4. I use a plate to shape the patty. Take 1/6 of the beef mixture and roll into a smooth ball. Press the ball onto a plate and flatten with the palm of your hand, or use wax paper sheets if you don't want to get your hands dirty. Repeat, using the entire batch

  5. Tuck the sides of the burger in so that they're smooth and uniform

  6. Preheat grill for a 4-5 minutes to warm up the surface

  7. Place the burger patties on the grill and add the BBQ sauce to the top of each burger

  8. Cook for 4 minutes approximately on each side for medium/medium rare hamburger. Do not flip before the time is up

  9. When one side is done, flip it over

  10. After flipping, add BBQ sauce to the top side to add flavor

  11. If desired, add cheese during the last minute of cooking

  12. Serve on your favorite bun and condiments
