Hamburger Bun Recipe

The hamburger is a fantastic item that is universally loved. In its standard form - as a beef patty with onions - it is as simple a dish as it gets, and the classic hamburger bun recipe is the one that carries off the concept to the best degree. Tasty and simple, cheap and cheerful, it must be one of the most popular dishes across the world.

Putting a hamburger between two slices of bread is not a new idea by any means - indeed, the 'Hamburger Steak' in its earliest form dates from the 1820's - and that the traditional method has hardly been changed in all that time is an indication of how successful the method is.

What makes the hamburger in a bun so versatile, however, is what you can put in there with it! The classic hamburger bun recipe is the one with a lovely juicy burger topped with tomato and lettuce, or tomato sauce, served with a side plate of fries. Popular across the world, this is the standard method because it works. Adding other vegetables - such as cucumber and gherkins - can add to the flavor and create something more ingenious, while introducing herbs to the recipe also gives the hamburger something extra.

The choice of bun is also something of a dilemma; some prefer a soft bun while others a toasted and crispy version - the choice is up to the individual - and a well tried method of adding flavor is to use the sesame seed bun for that extra nutty taste.

Either way, the hamburger bun recipe is one that is best served using a quality, juicy burger, one with quality ground beef and finely chopped onions and crispy fires to taste. That is what makes the hamburger so special - the simplicity, the taste and sheer variety of options.
