Ranch Chicken Burger with ranch seasoning

If you think this ranch chicken burger is smothered in ranch dressing, you would be wrong.

As one of Amercia's favorite condiments, ranch dressing is probably a must-have in many burgers. However, instead of having it as a dressing, how about using it as a patty seasoning?

The ranch dressing flavor in this burger is achieved by adding some ranch seasoning mix to the ground chicken patties.

Vary the flavor of the ranch chicken burger by using different kinds of seasoning mix.

    2 pound ground chicken
    1 egg white
    1 packet ranch dressing mix
    1 teaspoon pepper
    0.5 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon onion powder
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    2 small cloves garlic
    1/4 cup chopped onion
    2 tablespoon fresh parsley
    1/2 tsp red pepper
    Oil for the grill
    8 burger buns
    16 slices of bacon (optional)
1/2 cup sour cream or yoghurt
    Red leaf lettuce
Feta or 8 american cheese slices

  1. Add the egg white, ranch dressing powder, pepper, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, garlic cloves, onion, parsley, red pepper into a food processor and process on high into a smooth paste
  2. Place the ground chicken in a mixing bowl, add the paste and mix well
  3. Divide the mixture into 8 portions and form the patties
  4. Keep them in the fridge wrapped in wax paper until they are ready for use
  5. Fry the bacon in a pan till crispy and keep aside
  6. Heat up the grill or skillet
  7. Make sure the grill is well oiled to prevent sticking. The oil also helps to give great grill marks to the patties. Do the same if you are using a skillet
  8. Cook burgers without turning on the first side for a full seven minutes
  9. Turn burgers only once. The more the burgers are turned, the more likely they will stick. So refrain from flipping them
  10. Cook on the second side for six minutes. Remove from grill or skillet to a platter and top with the feta or american cheese
  11. While the patties rest on the platter, toast the buns on the grill. You may want to lightly butter buns before toasting, but for a lower fat version, toast dry
  12. Spread the sour cream or yoghurt on the warm buns. Lay a few pieces of the red leaf lettuce (or your favorite burger veggies). If using bacon, add it now
  13. Lay the chicken patty on top of the bacon and top if off with the bun
