Spicy Turkey Burger

This spicy turkey burger doesn't need extra condiments. The patty itself has so much flavour. It is perfectly delicious alone on a bun.

Nah, you still want to add your lettuce leaves, tomato slices and a little salsa. :)

A spicy turkey patty on a crusty country bun

    1 1/4 pounds lean ground turkey
    1 cup mild salsa, divided
    1/2 cup finely chopped shallots
    1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
    Vegetable oil
    1 tablespoon hot sauce
    1 teaspoon ground cumin
    1 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
    4 crusty rolls, halved and toasted
    4 lettuce leaves or more
  1. Mix the ground turkey with the half the salsa, shallots, cilantro, 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil, hot sauce, cumin, salt, and pepper in a large bowl

  2. Shape turkey mixture into four 3 1/2- to 4-inch-diameter patties

  3. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat

  4. Add the patties and fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side

  5. Lower the heat and fry until burgers are cooked through, about 4 minutes

  6. Arrange the crusty roll bottoms on 4 plates

  7. Place lettuce leaves on the rolls, then the patties

  8. Top each patty with the remaining salsa, then cover with the roll tops

  9. Serve and Enjoy
